03/20/16 Electric Beach
A funny title for an Amazing beach. This beach is on the West Cost of the Island and whenever tides are low and currents arent rough, this beach NEVER fails. I love going out to tubes where the electric company funnles heat to the ocean, there you will find so many ocean friends you can play with. On this particular day I managed to hold a Pencil Sea Urchin that David Swooped up for me. Now David is a lot more experienced at free diving than I am so his ocean depths are deeper than mines. This was the first time we went diving together as a couple. :) We found turtles and a baby cuttle fish. I got to swim with a school of fish and of course take some cool pictures of it all. Im so glad I have a partner who I can share the same interest with. I've always loved being in the ocean: the calmness and the vast openess of the ocean just sooths my soul. Since this day, David and I have been making it an effort to go free diving whenever conditions are favorable. Like any hobby, you must perfect your skills, with diving you need to kick right and practice breathing techniques that will allow you to reach depths of 80ft and beyond. But always remember that these techniques should be supervised. Always swim with a partner.
Swim well and observe focally.
Get lost my friends.
03/06/2016Makapu'u Tide Pools
By the name of this, its obviously not a Beach to be discovered however, it is a great place to soak up the sun and take wicked pictures. There are two ways to these tide pool gems, 1) from the Makapu'u Light house "hike" or 2) from Alan Davis Beach. On this particular day, we took option 2 towards the tide pools and option 1 to go back to the truck. Keep in mind that option 1 is a straight hike downwards while option 2 is a longer but more scenic route. Another thing to note is the different tidepools you get to experience while hiking option 2. In our pictures showcase a green and blue tide pool you can dip your feet into before going to the main tidepool area. I throughly enjoyed the blue tidepool but there is also a yellow amber looking pool (I advise not swimming in this one but taking pictures with it is awesome). The best place to park is along the road near the Makapu'u light house or in the parking lot. Parking in the lot is VERY limited and can get packed quickly, just as the tide pools. If you plan on going on a weekend, Id advise you pack lunch, and go early, that way you can snag the tide pools all to yourself for a bit, before everyone else makes the trek down. Please be advised that tides can change and can get rough so please be safe, and respect the tide pools. If you see any trash pick it up, you dont want these fine waters to become tainted. Also, while youre down near the main tidepools there is an option for an awesome photoshoot at Dragons Layer, where the caves look like steam coming from a dragons nostrils. 2/27/16: Secret Island
This Beach Location is called Secret Island.; a place well hidden from the roads. Do a little exploration and you get to find these beautiful decks, and a litte rope swing. There are two swings however, when we went, one of the swings broke and the other was tied to the tree so, we spent a good amount of time trying to get the swing down. If you continue to walk past the rope swings you'll find a weird and "shady" looking structure that people can jump off. Do not worry! There is a drop off that is deep enough to not hit the ocean floor. We went around sunset so the water was fairly warm. If you want to find this location, just contact us! We'll help you discover this exotic location.

1/18/16Mokulua Island
My first time Kayaking in the open waters and my first time going to this island! That tiny little island you see off of Lanikai Pill box, yeah, thats this island. Though for many years not too many tourist knew about this great cliff jumping site, its quite over populated now. Sadly the only way to this island is to 1) either swim or 2) kayak. It took David and I about 15 minutes to get to the island and unfortunately, our kayak flipped. After landing on the island shore, you can hike the cliffs. These cliffs offer great points to jump off of but, please be aware that the waves do get choppy and may effect your landing, taking off, and jumping off locations. If you plan on going, go early, park your kayak there and enjoy the hike. Please take care of the land and respect the native species. While on the island I seen MANY tourist disrepect the land by throwing there cigarette butts on the ground. Please dont be disrepectful because this is also a sancturary for the birds. Be smart and pack water, maybe some easy beach lunches. That way you can have a picnic and enjoy the view.
I GOT LOST in this BEAUTIFUL place, You will too!
